Love and a Baby{Sarah & Scott – Maternity}

I was ecstatic when Sarah emailed me and asked if I would be available for maternity pictures! Her and I met while teaching and coaching soccer and Scott is also a teacher. The three of us are counting down the days until our summer break, but they have even more to count down to. They are expecting baby W in June! From experience I can tell them that June is a wonderful month for a baby to be born:)
Thank you Scott and Sarah for sharing an evening with me and I cannot wait for your little guy’s arrival!
I promise I didn’t plan this, it was all them:)
These next two are probably my favorite of the set.

The Winners!{A Family Session}

This sweet family was the winner of my 2011 Favorites Contest. I was so excited to finally meet them! Between weather and our busy schedules we had to move the session around a few times, but when we finally met it was a perfect day. They showed up with awesome outfits and perfect colors for the location.
Loved the color in this session, but this black and white is a favorite!
Really?! Aren’t they so cute!

News{Lemonade & Lenses – Cover Contest}

This post is more for the photographers, but there is some fun eye candy in the link and exciting news for our Spokesmodel, Emily!
A few months ago I came across a photography magazine, called Lemonade & Lenses. This beautiful and inspiring magazine is offered digitally and printed.
It is dedicated to providing a wealth of amazing content and eye candy to photographers.
Last month one of my images was chosen as an honorable mention for the May Issue Cover Contest {Weddings}. I also have a bouquet image inside the magazine(I will share that when the magazine comes soon!). I was thrilled to be among so many other talented photographers and chosen out of over 500 images entered into the contest!
This month the contest was for the June Issue featuring Seniors. My favorite! I entered knowing the competition was tough. Today when I saw the honorable mentions I was wowed by all the creative and beautiful images, not surprised though. I was bummed I didn’t make it into those top images this time, but felt like the images chosen were awesome. Fast forward a half hour or so and they announced the winner of the cover contest. As I looked through the post, oohing and ahhing over the winners I came across MINE. I had received second place!!!Some of you may think, you didn’t win, but I was elated. What an honor to make it all the way to second place out of so many amazing images! The winner was stunning and clearly is perfect for the cover, but to be runner up to it is an honor.
I want to thank Lemonade and Lenses for the opportunity to submit and share our work!

Senior Spokesmodel 2013{Emily~Hanover High}

Emily is our second member of the 2013 Senior Spokesmodel Team! Her session was on, what seemed like, the coldest day we have had in months. She handled like a true model! The day started of with hair and makeup by the very talented Katherine at Karina’s Salon. This new highlight of the Kristie Bradley Photography experience is highly recommended. Not only does professional hair and makeup make you an even better YOU, it is super fun to plan and be pampered!

First of all Emily is a complete natural! I mean just look at this first set! The one on the right…LOVE!
Katherine at Karaina’s Salon did an absolutely AMAZING job with Emily’s hair. It was perfect!
I just loved the colors in this session, but some of these black and whites are my favorites. So classic!
At the end of the session we squeezed in a few shots before we lost our light.
Hair down and some red lipstick are an awesome way to end the night! I especially love the added red TOMS!
And, WOW those eyes!

Senior Spokesmodel 2013 {Kara~Hanover High}

This mini session is a special one. Not only is it our very first Spokesmodel of 2013, but it is also the first session that includes hair and makeup! Kara is already a beautiful girl. Her eyes are A-MAZ-ING! The added professional hair and makeup by Katherine at Karina’s Salon in Richmond just pushed her to exquisite. What to Wear Spring{Family}

As I was putting together some ideas for an upcoming family session I decided it would be great to share!
I have posted ideas for Winter and Fall and was in need of a Spring What to Wear post:) Here are a few tips when deciding what to wear to your session!
Pick an ACCENT COLOR and work around it. In the example below Mom’s dress has blues, grays and greens in it.
So, I gave the little girl a blue jean skirt and gray shoes. Her shirt is a yellow green that also coordinates. Dad is wearing a green shirt and blue jeans that fit the scheme as well.
COORDINATE. Don’t worry about matching perfectly.
Images look better and more natural with one or two colors that are repeated in outfits rather than everyone in a white shirt and kakis.
BE COMFORTABLE! Choose items that you feel good in. If you don’t feel comfortable it will show in your images.
ACCESSORIZE! A great pair of sunglasses can add some fun to your session!
Shoes can be in neutral colors like browns, blacks and grays. {Not to say a great pair of red shoes is a no-no! Have fun!}

Instagram Fun!{NYC}

The blog has been a little quiet lately, but that is because great things are in the works! I have also been busy chaperoning 15 teenagers in New York City! I took my camera with me with high hopes for some great photo ops, BUT NYC and teenagers on the subway do not make time for photographing! Ha! I tried to get a few with my favorite app, Instagram and thought it would be fun to share them here:) Check out a circle of TOMS, Elmo, Toys R Us ferris wheel, architecture, street stores and more:) Enjoy and get ready for some beauties to grace these pages soon!

6 Days New{Baby Charlotte’s Welcome to the World}

I was so excited to meet this sweetie. She is the newest addition to the family of our dear friends. I have photographed them and their first little girl over the last year and am so excited as I continue to follow their growing family. Charlotte was amazing. So sweet and beautiful. In the beginning she followed in the footsteps of her big sister and was checking out the camera. This image reminds me so much of big sis Caroline‘s newborn session.
Later in the session she fell asleep and gave us some precious shots. In between there were some frowns and smiles:)
Love this little hat that mom picked out! It fit perfect with the pink dresser they had:)
