A Tribute to all the KBP Moms{We Love You!}

Posted on May 10, 2013

I can only hope that you have a Mom as amazing as I do. She is the best and I can honestly say she would do anything for me and my sister.
She is our rock and I know I can speak for my sister and I when I say that we hope to be half the Mom she is for our children. Love you Mom!!

Mother’s Day is in a few days. I am writing this post ahead of time because any day now we are expecting our second baby! I hope he has arrived by the time this post goes live, but if he hasn’t then maybe I will have an extra special Mother’s Day this year:) I wanted to do a  post dedicated exclusively to the Moms I have photographed over the years. I know they all are very special to their families!

Enjoy some past and present Mothers and have a wonderful weekend!

The image on the left is my Mom with Jackson{our first son} when he was a newborn. Almost 3 years later and #2 is either here or on his way:)

The couple on the right and the next few clients are expecting new babies this Spring and Summer or have had a baby recently, congrats!

Happy Mother’s Day!!

Countdown to Baby!{When do YOU think he will arrive?}

Posted on April 12, 2013

We are so excited and so close{one month from today until my due date} to meeting baby boy  Bradley #2! That means that I will be on maternity leave soon, so please remember that I will not be booking any sessions in May. I will begin shooting again June 1st and already have sessions on the calendar so please make sure you contact me if you would like a summer session! I will be checking emails and messages and making bookings while on leave, it may just take me a bit longer to reply while I am on newborn time:)

So, with the baby arriving very soon, I thought it would be fun to run a little CONTEST and open up due date and birth stat guesses to all my KBP fans and supporters!
To “sweeten” the deal I have put together a yummy candy filled prize basket for the winner full of goodies from Sweet Spot Candy!

So, here is how it works:

1)Head over to Facebook and LIKE Kristie Bradley Photography so that you can be notified of updates and the winning announcement!
You MUST be a fan to be eligible to win the gift basket. If you do not do this step the next closest guess will be awarded.
Already a FAN, yay! You can skip to the next step:)

2) Use this link {http://www.whatsinmybelly.com/baby-pool-baby-bradley-2-886}
or the one pinned to the top of our Facebook page feed to go to our Whats in My Belly baby pool.

3) Make your guesses!

Because posts are always more fun with some pictures. Here are a few Instagram pics of my growing belly:)

I cannot wait to meet our little guy and see who makes the best guess on his arrival! Hurry go guess, he could be here any day now!! :)

Week in Review{Sneak Peeks & What is on the Way!}

Posted on April 5, 2013

This week has been wonderful! It is Spring Break around here and the to do list has been seeing lots of check marks!
On a personal note we have made some progress on the baby room and Jackson’s big boy room. Still lots to do but feeling like we are closer:)

A few of this weeks sessions had to be rescheduled, but the two I have had so far were so much fun!
I still have one more huge shoot this weekend. I cannot wait to get all of my Class of 2014 Senior Spokesmodel team together on Sunday!
Wait until you see what we have planned!

So, still lots to share and do before May hits. In case you missed them, here are a few of the sneak peeks and favorites from the week!.

First, we had Bethany’s senior session. You can see most of the session HERE, but the rest must wait until May{read the post for details}.
Here is one of my favorites from her session.

Then Clark and his Mom and Dad came over for his one year session. More of their session is coming in a week or two, but check out a favorite.

Then yesterday we FINALLY had Savannah’s senior session. This was our 3rd attempt and it worked out perfectly!
This is one of MANY favorites that I cannot wait to share in a few weeks!

Happy Easter{Egg Dying Fun!}

Posted on March 31, 2013

Jackson and I ventured into the world of dying Easter eggs this year. I wasn’t quite sure how it would go, but was pleasantly surprised at the outcome. While I was getting ready Jackson colored/decorated our table cloth:) He was so anxious to “paint the eggs”! Finally, we were ready and he did a great job!

I hope you have a wonderful Easter and enjoy some family time!

This is an EXCITING week for KBP. Tons of shoots scheduled and lots of images to follow!

Showing Daddy what he is doing:)

The final product!

Snow storm Wednesday, perfect sunny day Saturday! That is Richmond weather for ya:)

As you will see little Max was on the move the whole time and he kept us on our toes! He is so adorable!
I loved his little high tops and baby fedora. Too cute! Enjoy a little sneak peek of their city session:)

Cure by Design 2013{Sam’s Journey}

Posted on March 11, 2013

It has been a few years now that I have been lucky enough to be involved with the American Cancer Society’s Cure by Design Event. You can see the previous images HERE. The first year I was asked if I would photograph the event’s Spokesmodel, Chris for the advertising campaign. This is still to date one of my most favorite shoots. It was simple, yet beautiful. Chris made me look good, he is pretty easy on the eyes:) With this shoot I was also introduced to a world and people that I always feel blessed to be a part of. These people are so brave, positive and strong. The world of cancer survivors is vast and does not care about age or gender. Chris was fighting(and still is) his battle at a “young” age, but one of this year’s models is even younger.

Sam, a young high school girl has been fighting her battle for 3 years now. She has been on a journey of dispair, pain and hope. You can read all about it at CaringBridge.com. Photographing her was so much fun. She has a beautiful smile with a little spunk in her. She looked adorable in her striped blue and white dress and pop of color in her yellow necklace!

Check out a few of her images and be sure to visit her site to learn more about her and her journey.

Also, make sure you head over and read the details on this year’s CBD event on September 21st!
Go LIKE them on Facebook to get the latest updates and photos!

This year is the American Cancer Society’s 100th birthday! We celebrated with cupcakes, balloons and confetti:)

Thank you to the following people for their contributions to the shoot!

Stylist: Ethan Moore – the man behind the clothes!

Hair and Makeup: Angela Roth

Venue: The John Marshall Ballrooms

The Greatest Show on Earth! {Some Circus Fun}

Posted on February 25, 2013

After almost 4 weeks without my camera I was itching to get back to shooting. I finally got it back just in time to take some pictures of our weekend trip to the circus!
We were up high, but it was still a good show. We made it two hours before Jackson asked to go home. It was A LOT to take in, so I think we were all ready to call it a day.
My camera was working like new again so I was a happy girl:)

Hope you enjoy some colorful shots of the day.

On our way!…Hi Mommy…Grrrr….we are going to the Circus!

The slow season is officially over(until maternity leave) so expect to start seeing sneak peeks and posts of my 2013 clients. I can’t wait!
Be sure to follow me to keep up with it all!

Sweet Treats{A Valentine’s Day Celebration}

Posted on February 12, 2013

I don’t know what it is about Valentine’s Day, but I LOVE it.
Not necessarily the day or all the hype that goes into it, but I just love the decor. Hearts galore! I am not a huge fan of red in my everyday living.
I don’t think I have a single red thing in my closet. I don’t know why, but on Valentine’s day I load up on everything red and pink! I love all the little hearts and girly things that go with it. Although I am not a super girly girl, I am the minority in my house so going all out on Valentine’s Day may be my way of compensating..haha:)
My sister, of AndreaGayle Photography, and I decided we wanted to put on a little party for our combined 4 littles. We wanted to make fun goodies with hearts and set up a cute display. We gathered supplies and with the help of our Mom{Grandma’s make great babysitters} spent the day setting up and preparing. With four kiddos running around it took a bit longer than expected. They were VERY excited and enjoyed eating all the goodies!
We each took a few tasks and my sister made these adorable apples with hearts cut out. Love them!

Heart shaped strawberries and of course we had to have some candy in the mix:)

Next up…strawberry milk!! Mmmmm.

Had enough hearts yet? There is so much more! How about some heart peanut butter sandwiches.

And for dessert I made heart shape raspberry pies. They were super easy to make using a press from Target!

So many goodies!

We also made little yogurt parfaits.

Details:)

Next time we want to get some pictures of the kids, but we had fun with our heart theme Valentine’s Day Party.
Hope you enjoyed it too and maybe something inspired you for your own celebration?!

Custom Photography{A Worthy Investment & How to Budget}

Posted on February 5, 2013

Of course I believe that everyone should have their photos taken as often as possible. I live for photography and not only is it my passion  it is my career. I get inquires frequently that begin with ” I love your work, can you send me a price list?” I completely understand that everyone is on a budget so I always respond with details of what I can offer. I do however hope that these inquiries are not just looking for “a deal” or “cheap” session. Custom photography is an investment and to many a luxury. In fact, it is for me and my family! We have had to bypass hiring a photographer this year due to our budget, new baby coming and time. Luckily, we got some great images because I could be involved in setting up a few shots. I still feel like we missed out though and I am putting a family session in our budget for next Fall!

So, how can you make sure you don’t miss out! Start saving! I was thinking about it the other day and it came to me. My clients know what their budget is and what my minimum requirements are. If you know you have a senior graduating next year and want a session in June or July start putting money aside now! It is just like saving for any other luxury… a vacation, a car, a special dinner out.  Start a photography fund jar! How fun is this. We have started our own photography fund jar and  already started filling it up. Sure, its all change now, but every little bit counts! Can you think of ways to add to your fund? Cut out a trip to Starbucks, that is $5 right there! What about that tax return that is coming in? Put a portion aside for photos!

If you find yourself frequenting KBP and loving what you see then I know you will not be disappoined in your savings and investment! You save for things that matter to you and custom photography is a wonderful thing to have on that list. I hope this post motivates you to get started.
Everyday is a day closer to your awesome custom session with KBP! Can’t wait!

This is our family photo attempt from this last Fall. I was happy with the results(thanks to my mother-in-law clicking the shutter)
but next year with two littles we may need a bit more help!

As I was setting up the camera, settings and composition, my little guy was not too happy about things.
Once I ran over to get in the pictures he seemed to settle down. It didn’t hurt that Auntie M was jumping around being silly too:)

This is the photo we went with in color, I like the black and white version too:)
